The Wii One Grows!

Well it has been an extremely long time since we've blogged, but it hasn't been because we didn't want to.  We have been extremely busy preparing for this "Wii One".  We have been working the Nursery and finally finished the Crib!  The drawer that is under the crib in the picture is the original color of the crib that we bought, which we sanded, sanded, and sanded (seemed like for 10 years) and then stained to the new beautiful color!  We painted the drawer underneath white and will be doing a grass stencil as the theme is butterflies and dragonflies.  I am now working on the sheeting, which pictures will follow when that project is completed.

As we have been working on the nursery, we have been setting up the layout and getting everything situated.  Nick recently was able to find on KSL for just $10 a wood Glider in great condition.  We used his parents Little Green Machine and cleaned the fabric, and she looks great!  The chair is so comfortable I could definitely sleep on it.

We also recently saved up and bought up a camera that has taken these amazing photos.  We love it and couldn't be happier with the purchase.

As for the title of the blog, that is the last thing we have been so busy doing!  Making sure that the "Wii Little One" grows.  Which means that I have been growing.  Finally past all the morning sickness I have been able to enjoy foods again.  So far she is growing perfectly and is in the 50% of everything as well as I am.  Finally both daughter and mother are packing on the pounds.  With 8 weeks to go WE are all getting so excited for the baby to come.  Except I do have my freak out moments as any expectant mother does.

Just a small update!

So Nick and I have had a lot going on that has kept us pretty busy, but none of it really felt blog worthy.  But I figured its about time I update this thing. (Plus I'm kind of bored waiting for Nick to come home and to see if Extreme Makeover: Weight-loss Edition is as good as I hope).   So here is a few updates:

I'm now on my 15th week of pregnancy and haven't throw up for a record of 4 days (cross my fingers).  Still feeling queasy at times and seem to live with tums at my side now, but hey my daily view isn't the toilet anymore! :) :) :) :)

Nick is working still and kicking butt thanks to everything that was demanding from coaches at fortune.  Fortune demanded their coaches handle all their own emails and get testimonials and all that jazz.  At his new place its more smiled upon but not required so he's totally smokin' now and all the managers love it!  He also went to the U2 concert with his brother Jason and seemed to have a really good time at the concert and their day of golfing.

We have moved out of our apartment which is nice, that was its own drama and isn't fully handled with it either, but thats a different story.  We now live with my parents which has actually been really good for us I feel.  Especially me, my mom is around to keep me company and help me as I'm a sad, sick pregnant lady.

So the worst news I can think of is that this child (aka parasite on some days) has sadly turned me into a vegetarian.  I have vowed that as soon as this baby is born that I will demand and deserve a big fat juicy bloody steak!

We have started to work on remolding this crib we bought.  We are just sanding it and then staining it a dark wood color!  I'll be sure to so a pic of the final project.  Oh we also get to know the gender of the baby in just a little over a month now which Nick and I are excited about.  Once you know the gender you can plan better.  I had a dream that we were having a girl and Nick had a dream that we were having a boy (I think as defiance to my dream) so it will be nice to know who is more in tune with the baby.  Anyway thats all for now.  I'll be sure to post again atleast when we find out the gender!

12,942.29

Thank Goodness for Health Insurance!  We got the third and FINAL bill from the Hospitals for Nick's surgeries!  $12,942.29 is the total bill.
The first surgery for the tonsillectomy, we already spoke to the insurance company and we knew how much it would cost, since we had to pay the deductible.  But the tonsils were so huge the Dr. sent them to pathology.  That is the 2nd bill.

Why they had to run 18 tests is beyond us though!

The third and largest bill is for Nick's 2nd (emergency) surgery.  Luckily we don't have the pay the ER co-pay because he was admitted to the hospital.  Nick was in the OR for 61 minutes.  Know how much that cost?  $2,041.67!  Its kind of crazy!

But in the end I am happy that Nick is recovering and alive!  It will take a little while to pay it off, but since we only have to pay about 20% its a lot less than it could be.    So the moral of the story is if you have to have a Tonsillectomy  avoid having your artery bleed so you don't have to have that emergency surgery!  I am grateful to Nick's Dr. who rushed over at 11pm  to operate on Nick.    He's a great Dr. and did amazing work.  If you have to see an ENT and you insurance will cover him, I highly Recommend him.  His name is Dr. S. Todd Hamilton in Central Utah Clinic.  Well Nick is basically back to normal and feeling about 90% human again!  Should have some more news soon hopefully to keep this blog going!  :)

Changing Luck?

So according to the ticker above, Nick and I have been married for 3 months now.  And it seems that even before we were married we've had bad luck.  We are still optimistic and happy!  We are now just of the opinion that the only way is up at this point.  During the engagement besides the normal wedding and family issues, Nick's car continually broke down and left us with barely any money for anything else.  We have debts we need to pay off and its not like they will be nice since we are getting married in all. After the wedding we had to cut the honeymoon short because of financial issues.  We got a flat tire on the way to Las Vegas for the Honeymoon as well.  January was a bit of a blur trying to get caught up from the wedding, honeymoon, holidays and missing work.  February Nick told me he had planned a romantic night at the beginning of march.  We were suppose to go see Joshua Radin in Salt Lake and then spend the night at the Anniversary Inn and go to the Salt Lake Temple the next day.  We had saved the money and had it packed away in Nick's sock Drawer.  The Thursday before the concert the FTC comes and seizes our Company.  They took our money, held our pay and took our jobs.  So we cancelled the hotel, still went to the concert and spent the money we saved on groceries.  Nick found a job a week later and at the end of that week Nick was told he had to get his tonsils taken out.
He got his tonsils taken out that Monday.   He was going to be out of work for about 2 weeks, after only have started his job the week before.  Nick's tonsil are incredible huge naturally and he had an infection which only made them bigger!  He seemed to be recovering nicely until Monday when he started to feel nauseous.  Tuesday afternoon he started to bleed some, but we were able to get it stopped but went to the Dr's to make sure it was ok.  We came home and Nick took a nap.  He woke up at 8:30 pm and started to cough up blood.  We tried to get it to stopped, but it wouldn't stop.  We eventually went to the ER at about 9:40 and got checked in.  Nick was swallowing the blood and the Dr's didn't seem to think it was urgent until Nick threw up 1700 mL of blood.  The called Dr. Hamilton who rushed over and took Nick into emergency surgery at midnight.  An hour and half later the Dr came out and told him that the artery below Nick's tongue in his throat had ruptured and had been spurting blood.  He got it under control, pumped another 300mL's of blood out of Nick's stomach and that Nick was doing fine.

Nick threw up 2 liters of blood tuesday night, thats a coke bottle!  He didn't even have to have a blood transfusion!  Oh I forgot, Shadow had to have one of her canine teeth pulled as well.  I had to have a cavity filled and I now have a mouth guard.  There is a root canal in my future, but we will ignore that for as long as possible.  We are grateful everyday that we are happy.  That there are no problems or arguments between us.  Nick and I haven't even had one serious fight!  So here we are, waiting for us to catch a break.  We know it will happen eventually and count every blessing we can, even if its that we saved 3 cents!  Hopefully next post will be about the break we received.
